He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Marie Gower; and his son Mitchell Gower. He is survived by: his sons, Matt Gower (Kelly), Brian Gower (Rebekah) and Brad Gower; his grandchildren, Lexie, Nicholas and Samantha Gower; and his sister Agnes Williams.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
