He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Shaffer and Katherine Shaffer (Kraft). He is survived by: his wife Lula Mae Shaffer (Jones); his daughter Charlotte Shaffer (John Grove); his granddaughter Cheryl Bennet; and his sons, Carl Shaffer and Clarence Shaffer (Joyce). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
