The family announces the passing of Darwin D. Hanson of Canton, Ohio on October 6, 2026. Darwin, born on August 23, 1940, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Royal Hanson and Martha Hanson (Stanek); his wife Lois Hanson (Houdeshell); and his brother Ron Hanson. He is survived by: his children, Vicki Sutek (Ray Roessner), Pam Hunt (Michael), Craig Hanson (Cindy) and Curt Hanson (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Kelli, Nicholas Sutek, Jacob Reeves, Kayla Hunt, Adam Hanson (Mary), Andrew and Caden Hanson. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (7707 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44721). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Darwin's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
