He is survived by: his close friend Brenda Newhouse; his children, Joseph Medal (Shari) of Canton, Ohio and Gina Ter Haar (Rich) of Naples, Florida; his daughter-in-law Darla Medal (Turner) of Hartville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Michael J. Medal II (Brenda), Ricky Thrasher (Collette), Joseph Medal (Chais), Taryn Hammill (Donny) and Maria James (Jamal); and his sister Betty Stubavi of Louisville. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
