He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Nelson and Mary Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Nelson (Patty); his children, Kelly Hines (Michael) and Edwin "Ed" Nelson III; his grandsons, Cody and Adam; his stepgrandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Jake, Ellie and Ryan; his sisters, Cheryl Merriman and Peggy Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Sally Craft (Fred) and Gary Roberts (Patty). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
