She was predeceased by : her parents, Clifford Boehnke and Irene Boehnke; her husband Walter "Jim" Dillon; and her sister Linda Brockmann. She is survived by : her children, Karyn Snyder and Michael Dillon (Amanda); her grandchildren, Breianna, Tyler, Alysha, Alexandra and Barrett; and her brother Chuck Boehnke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellyn's name to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
