He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Gibbs and Theodore V. Gibbs; and his siblings, Grace Gibbs Barnhart, Theodore V. Gibbs Jr. and Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Small Gibbs; his sons, Frederick (Patricia) of Bedford, Joshua (Kristin) of Chagrin Fall, Ohio and Peter of Lynchburg, Virginia; his grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Alison, Pearce, Justus, Ian, Graham and Merritt; and his great grandchild Noah.
