He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sr. Cathey and Nancy Cathey. He is survived by: his wife Kimberle Cathey; his children, Jenny Raber (James II) and Jaime Smith (Matt); his grandchildren, Zachary Raber, Ashley Raber, Elliot Smith and Ean Paul Smith; his siblings, Richard Jr. Cathey (Florence), Terry Cathey (Melanie), Thomas Cathey (Carrie), Robert Cathey (Kelly) and Patricia Harcourt (Brad); and his close friend Jeff Cindric. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, mirroring Gary's unwavering commitment to helping others and bringing joy to those around him.
