He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Jack; his wife Ruth Amos (McDermott); his brother-in-law Jim McDermott (Liz) of Malvern; and his sibling's children, Tyler McDermott of Cincinnati, James McDermott of Carrollton, Justine McDermott (Aaron Reimann) of East Rochester, Sarah Riggs (Charlie) of Lincoln Nebraska, Caitlin Gruber of Canton and Olivia Rush (Andrew) of Massillon.
