He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Shannon and Faye Stafford; his wife Alma Rose Shannon (Buchanan); his daughter Deborah Jacobsen; his granddaughters, Erin Jacobsen and Shanna Beth Jacobsen; and his siblings, Lawrence "Tody", Mary, Irene and Ralph "Johnny".
He is survived by: his children, Karen Staub (Rick) of East Canton, Rebecca Burgess (Ron) of Canton South, Sharon Senften (Ron) of New Franklin, Jimmy Lee Shannon of Dalton, Brenda Lou Smith of Canton, Shaun Shannon (Amy) of Bolivar and Barry Shannon of Canton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Hattie Larlham Organization.
