He was predeceased by: his wife Alma Bailis (Morrone); his parents, George Bailis and Dorothy Bailis; and his sisters, Carol Burley, MaryLou Demeo and Nora Lee Bailis.
He is survived by: his children, James R. Bailis, Jr. (Carrie) and Tawnia Kitson; his grandchildren, Samuel Kitson (Emily) and Sydnie Kitson; his great grandchildren, Vivian Eileen and Charlotte Rose Kitson; and his girlfriend Eileen. He is also survived by many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lamiell Funeral Home (1353 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44703). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Hill Cemetery (4414 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709).
