He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Purney and Esther Ruth Purney Sr. (Dunmire); his wife Mary Jo Purney (Kisela); and his son John Joseph Purney. He is survived by: his children, Terri Purney and Richard Purney (Diane); his grandson Nathan Johnson; and his great grandchild Tytan.
