With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katie Mae Bridgest of Canton, Ohio, who passed away on May 6, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, William Bennett and Mary Bennett (Wilkens); her daughter Treasa Jones; her granddaughter Valerie; and her siblings, Juanita Muse, Joseph Bennett, William "Red" Bennett, Eugene "Gene" Bennett and Robert Bennett.

She is survived by : her children, John Bridgest (Dorthea) and Emmelia Lewis (Doyle); and her grandchildren, Kerry, Lynise (Ira), Scott, Kimberly Chandra (Joseph), Chan (Tracey), Jasmine, Mark, Tiffany, Pamela, Blaine, Tommy and Dominic. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church (1111 3rd St SE, Massillon, OH 44646). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Hill Cemetery (4414 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church.
