He was predeceased by: his mother Sonja Pettini (Blake). He is survived by: his father John Sr. Pettini; his wife Jan Pettini (Casto); his stepchildren, Jamie Ott (Tony) and Ryan Shearer (Tina); his granddaughter Kaylee Shearer; his great grandchild Gracelyn; his grandchildren, Luke, Paige Freday, Sofia Shearer and Mariah Ott; and his siblings, John Jr. Pettini (Jill), Evelyn Weese (Bobby) and Sonja Filimonuk (Mark). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
