She was predeceased by: her husband John B. Whitacre Jr.; and her brothers, Robert, William and Paul Frey. She is survived by: her children, Lynn Whitacre-Cart, Janet Kaboth (Paul) and John B. Whitacre III; her grandchildren, Lila Cart, Christopher Kaboth and Stephen Kaboth (Erin); and her great grandchildren, Alex, Ian, Ella and Emilia.

In 2007 she was presented with a Varsity "O" from the school for her contributions to the women's golf team.
