He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Swallen and Twila Swallen; his wife Pamela Swallen; his son-in-law Brandon Pandorf; and his sister-in-law Sharal Cross.
He is survived by: his children, Bryn Swallen (Laurie Katusin) and Blythe Pandorf; his grandchildren, Tristan, Chloe and Keira Swallen; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanne Lipps (Duane) and John Cross. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sanders Funeral Home (218 E Nassau St, Canton, OH 44730). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (515 E Line St, Minerva, OH 44657).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's honor to St. Paul's Lutheran Church (515 E Line Street, Minerva, Ohio 44657).
