He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Torrence and Exethel Torrence (Strain); his wife Hattie M. Torrence; and his siblings, Evelyn Holloway, Alfred and Timothy Torrence.
He is survived by: his children, Ricarla Torrence, Carlief Watson, Sheldon Torrence and Richard J Torrence Jr.; his siblings, Ruth Ramos, Barbara Jean Torrence and Anthony Torrence; his grandchildren, Chantia Torrence, Marcel M. Jackson, Brandon C. Quarterman, Tyler J. Malone, Brittanay Torrence, Diamond Torrence, Deandre Torrence and Richard J. Torrence III; and his close friend John Perry. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home (2257 Mahoning Rd NE, Canton, OH 44705). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens (2698 Broadway Ave NE, Louisville, OH 44641).
