He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bernhardt and Virginia Bernhardt (Watterson); his brother Douglas Bernhardt; his granddaughter Ashton Brantley; and his son-in-law William Bill'Hesson.
He is survived by: his wife Nita Bernhardt; his daughters, Julia Hesson (Chuck Motz), Samantha Icenogle (Taylor) and Jaimie Orbison (Sam); his stepdaughters, Jennifer Oglesbee (Jimmy) and Jessica Grove (Richard); his son Kai Brantley; his brother William Bernhardt; and his stepsiblings, Gail Moore (Terry), Scott Watterson (Kathleen), Reich L. Watterson III (Catherine), Craig Watterson (Cathy) and Joan Diehl. He is also survived by many grand children, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720).
