He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Edwin Swope and Margaret Naomi Swope; his brother William Edwin Swope; and his son Justin Scott Swope. He is survived by: his wife Susan Jean Swope; his children, Lisa Ann Sanchez and Michael Edwin Swope; his children-in-law, David Sanchez and Sara Swope; his grandchildren, Robert Anthony Sanchez (Lisa Bender Sanchez), Corey Vincent Sanchez, Kelley Marie Sanchez-Price (Thomas Price), Abigail Elizabeth Swope, Madeline Katherine Swope and MacPherson Paul Shelton; and his great grandchild Juniper Annabelle Sanchez. He is also survived by his family, friends.
He was also a member of the International Cold Forging Group, and served on the Board of Directors for the Forging Industry Educational Foundation. Robert contributed his expertise as a trustee of the Forging Industry Research and Development Foundation, and was also involved with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
