He is survived by: his wife Cecelia Ames (Ritton); and his children, Andrew Ames (Diana) of Hornell, NY, Mathew Ames (Byronny Byrnes) of North Canton, Mark Ames (Jessica Westfall) of East Canton and Crissandra Plank (Gary) of Hornell, NY. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
