It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sophia Effantis of Canton, Ohio, born in Louisville, Ohio, who passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Peterson and Rosa Peterson (Petropoulos). She is survived by: her husband William Effantis; her siblings, Diamont, Paul, Ernie, Thelma, Angeline, Pauline and Freda; her son-in-law George Lambrou A; her daughters, Joanne Nicholas (William) of Canton, OH and Tasia Lambrou (George) of Canton, OH; her granddaughters, Victoria Graf (Paul), Cynthia Harter (Chet), Sophia Nixdorf (Craig), Maria Basham (Jim) and Krissa Olson (Chris); and her great grandchildren, Alexa Graf, Avery Graf, Ethan Nixdorf, Arden Nixdorf, Peyton Harter, Lennon Brooks (J. R. Armstrong) and Malcolm Olson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given, in memory of Sophia Effantis, to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church.
