She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Mae Short (Hall) and Cleveland D. Short of LImestone County, AL.; her husband Joe Hatchett; and her siblings, Robert Lewis, William, Carter, Max, Larry, James Earl Short and Gladys Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Hatchett (Linda) of San Antonio, Gwendolyn Hatchett-Jones (Rick) of Hiltonhead, SC and Ronald Hatchett of Canton, OH; her sister Dorothy Johnson of Canton, OH; her siblings-in-law, Ray Jamar, Walter Jones, Ollie Hatchett, Lorean Jones, Cleo Hatchett, Mable Fletcher, Brenda Hatchett, Joan Short and Patricia Baker; and her close friends, Elizabeth Haywood and Lorena Bryant. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Peoples Baptist Church (701 17th St SE, Canton, OH 44707). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
