She was predeceased by: her parents, Lune Thomas and Mary Alice Thomas (John Edward Owens); her daughters, Tangi Johnson and Tessa Owens; her siblings, Verl Thomas, Lune "Sonny" Thomas, Mae Agnes Thomas, Norma Jean Thomas, Blanche Johnson and Loraine Underwood; her grandsons, Jamar Johnson and Jermaine Gaitor; and her husband John Edward Owens.

She is survived by: her children, Tina Friedman, Tiffany Dickerson (Orlando), Tikisha Harris (John) and John Owens; her brother Joey Thomas (Tanya); and her grandchildren, Timothy, Jason, William, Zikeyious Friedman, Camelia Pritchett, Aaramis Robinson, Justin, Joshua Johnson, Taylor, Orlando Dickerson, Mykala Newell, Jon'Naye, Adrian, Jaron, Trinity and Ohana Owens. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.
