He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Edwards (Lytle). He is survived by: his children, Angela Edwards and JT Edwards; and his grandchildren, Amon R. Shabazz, Nakiyyah K. Nasir and Naylah S. Nasir. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
