He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Watkins Whitmer (Babe) and Earl Whitmer (Curey); his wife Mary Lou; and his son Robert "Bobby" Whitmer. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Clubbs, Bonne, Dryden Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, SC and John; his daughter-in-law Kris Whitmer of Canton, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Kinley Reeves (Nicholas) and Lauren Waddell (Drew); Oliver, Amelia, James, Henry, Margaret, Selina Bohland (Drew) and Eloise. He is also survived by three granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the RFH Cntn - Chapel (705 Raff Rd SW, Canton, OH 44710).
