She was predeceased by: her spouse Francis W. Hirthler; her parents, Charles Pedano and Anna Gagliardi Pedano; and her siblings, Charles M. Pedano, Jr., Marie J. Celii and Sylvia J. Capriotti.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Hirthler (Kathy) of Narvon, PA and Michelle Schwemmer (Stephen) of Wellington, FL; her grandchildren, Patrick Hirthler, Andrew Hirthler (Haley), Taylor Schwemmer, Jordan Schwemmer and Kylee Schwemmer; and her great grandchildren, Lilly Hirthler and Henry Hirthler.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church - Downingtown (332 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or to the Alzheimer's Association.
