He is survived by: his wife Karla Marie Powell; his son Austin Lewis Powell; and his siblings, Jordan "Jerry" Powell (Nancy), James Powell (Trudy), John Powell (Tanya) and Kathleen Powell. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
The family has respectfully requested that all flowers be omitted, and that those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution in Vernon's name and memory to The Boy Scouts of America Troop #52, PO Box 46, Downingtown, PA 19335 and which would be deeply appreciated by his family.
