He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ries and Mary Smith Ries. He is survived by: his spouse Andrea Sue Litt Ries; his children, Lauren K. Clery (Kevin), Diana L. Ries (Brian Mason), Victoria R. Ries (Timothy Struder) and Michael A. "Max" Ries (Thomas Delavan); and his grandchildren, Finnegan and Reagan Clery. He is also survived by one of seven children and is survived by four sisters.
