She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wheeler and Frances Wheeler (Ford); her husband Karl B. Schmitz; her son Peter Schmitz; her siblings, Richard, Stanley and Marianne Swartz; and her grandson Andrew Schmitz.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Ashley DeStefano (Kevin); and her great grandchildren, Dominic, Charles and Penelope. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
