Jean A. Parks Obituary
Jean A. Parks, 78, of Lansdale, died Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was the cherished wife of the late Robert J. Parks. Born April 14, 1943 in Freeport, NY, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Boeckel) Abel. Jean was employed in the lock industry as a Master Keyer with Best Lock for many years. Her main job was being the world's greatest Mom and Grandma.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Lansdale. Jean enjoyed being in nature, and admiring the beauty of the world. She loved gardening, and her plants were spectacular. She enjoyed rock collecting on the shores of Lake Superior. Jean stayed active throughout her life. She loved walking, running, biking, hiking, and playing water volleyball with the folks at Dock Woods.
She also actively participated in six marathons. Jean loved her life to the fullest, and she loved all her family and friends as if she had known them a lifetime. Jean is survived by her children, Deb Pennypacker (Don) of Worcester, Cindy Parks O'Neil (Andy) of Kutztown, and Robert J. Parks (Lorene) of Durham, NC; her sister, Joan Fogelberg (Jon) of Marine, MN; her grandchildren, Josh, Jenny, Keleigh, Stephanie, Jessica, Patrick, Meghan, Olivia, Connor, Kacie, Haddon, and Ellie; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Kyle, Desiree, and a baby great grandson on the way.
She is predeceased by her son, Michael Parks and her brother, Paul Abel. Relatives and friends may call between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 500 W. Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. For those desiring, contributions may be made in Jean's memory to the Dock Woods Community, 275 Dock Dr., Lansdale, PA 19446.
