He was predeceased by: his parents, Phares Shive and Ruth Shive (Emert); and his brothers, Robert, William and Raymond.
He is survived by: his spouse Loralie A. Shive; his stepmother Louise G. Shive; and his sons, Richard B. Shive, Jr. (Sylvia) of Perkasie and Scott A. Shive (Bertha) of Willis, VA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
