She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Stefan Kern and Maria Kern (Fuchs); her husband John Kurtz, Sr.; her children, Erika Figura (Gregory), Anita Iasiello (Thomas), Linda Schlofer (Michael) and John Kurtz, Jr. (Sherry Richardson); her grandchildren, Andrea, Alyssa, Kyle, Jared, Olivia and Mason; her great grandchildren, Hayley and Ethan; and her siblings, Maria Schadl of Austria, Eric and Alfred. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church for the Erika Kurtz Memorial Fund to benefit the Queenship of Mary parish festival.
