He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hale Goebel, Jr. and Edith Lillian Vile; and his sister Jean Hesse. He is survived by: his wife Leah Kershaw Goebel; his children, John Goebel (Debbie), Debra Cornelius (Craig) and Lisa Newcomb (Dave); and his brother Ronald Goebel.

During our years together in the same study Jack group exemplified Christ-likeness, agape love, discipline, peacemaking, servanthood, generosity, edification, respectfulness, humility and enormous talent. His example as a family man has guided me and so many others. We thank God that his legacy continues with Leah, Debbie, John, and Lisa and so many others that God has blessed through Jack.”
