He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Clyde A. Brooks and Thelma K. Brooks; his brothers, Eddie Brooks and Ernie Brooks; and his girlfriend Mary Jane Taylor.
He is survived by: his son Jimmy Brooks (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Gracie and Alston Brooks.
