He was predeceased by: his son Johnny (Abbie Michele Stevens Butler Jennings); and his brothers, Willie Butler and Johnny Lee Butler, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Minister Daisy Mathis Butler; his sons, Quincy Butler (Emily) of Pittsburgh and Dexter Butler (Denise) of Johnston, SC; his grandchildren, Destany Butler, Angelique Butler, Darrion Butler, Nicolas Butler and Louisa Butler; and his siblings, Annie Laura Jackson (Louis) of Johnston, SC, David Butler (Cheryl) of Edgefield, SC, Walter Butler (Clara) of Orangeburg, SC and Jessie Jennings (Katherine) of Louisiana. He is also survived by six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; four aunts, six uncles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (415 Long Cane Rd, Johnston, SC 29832).
