She was predeceased by: her parents, James Carson and Vermelle Scott Carson. She is survived by: her husband George L. Smith; her children, Dr. George Smith (Sherry) and Laurel Griffin (Phillip); her siblings, James P. Carson, III (Glenda) and Nita Carson; her grandchildren, Taylor Walker (Stephen), Johnathan Griffin, Rebekah Wanner (Cade), Deanna Smith and Madison Griffin (Ethan); and her great grandchildren, Abraham Walker, Salah Walker, George Wanner and Henry Wanner.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home Batesburg-Leesville Chapel (256 Main St, Leesville, SC 29070). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at the Ridge Spring Cemetery (108 Church Cir, Ridge Spring, SC 29129).
