He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Carlson and Berith Carlson; and his brother Lynn. He is survived by: his children, Bjorn, Anika, Chelsey and Erik; his sister Diane; and his sister-in-law Kathy. He is also survived by four children, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
