He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff A. Griffin and Mary Juanita Patton Griffin; his son John David Griffin Jr.; and his siblings, George Burgess Griffin and Sara McEntire.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Pacetti Griffin; his children, Lee Harris, Teresa Shearsmith, George Schultz, Joe Schultz, Bonnie Goforth, Jerry Schultz and Alison Amar; and his brother Frank Griffin. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
