He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Donna; his children, Brian, Marla Grassi (Ron) and Karen Kind (Tom); his grandchildren, Sarah Stewart (Rob), Jeremy Nolen (Aleida), Jesse Nolen, Michael Nolen (Marcia), Micah Oates (Taylor), Hannah Stevens (Joel), Josiah Oates, Clara Neale (Jon), Stephanie, Lyndsey Grassi and Brian Frances; his great grandchildren, Brendan, Emma, Alexis, Savanna, Phoenix, Camden, Caydence, Carmyn, Cash, Aurora, Beau, Alice, Aleidaly, Lennox and Devin; his parent Donna (Delbert); and his siblings, Bob and Sharon. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the beginning, "those kids are so loud" was a common comment, but during Covid, he would ask when they were all coming back.
