He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilbur G. Mayer and Icyl K. Mayer (Pansie); his wife Molly J. Mayer; his daughter Heather N. Mayer; and his brother John P. Mayer.

He is survived by : his children, Dana J. Mayer, David G. Mayer Jr. (Amanda) and Kerrie J. Mayer (Kelvin Smith); and his grandchildren, Kyleigh R. Robbins, Aurora J. Smith and David G. Mayer III. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
