He was predeceased by: his parents, John Payne and Bessie Sourek Payne; his wife Lee Payne of Josaphat's Catholic Church; his son John Michael "Jack" Payne; his girlfriend June Tesch; and his siblings, John Patrick "Jack" Payne, Richard M "Dick" Payne and Patricia Ellen Payne.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Patricia Toms of Oshkosh; his children, Brian Payne (Lori), Jon Hatfield, Lynn Payne, Glenda Payne, Sara Payne, Melissa Payne and Tabby Payne; his grandchildren, Erika O'Neil (Randy), Hope Houts, Lauren Koch, Ben Houts, Roxas and Vincent Payne; and his great grandchild Channing O'Neil.
He was also an avid community member, volunteering to serve meals with his Loving Partner Patricia Toms and singing and ringing for the Salvation Army, and could find him every summer selling Brats outside local venues through the Barbershoppers, using donations to offer scholarships for young students.
