He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Salzer and Alice Salzer Sr. (Stearns); his parents-in-law, Edna and Frank Kuehl; his brothers, Robert Salzer (Nancy) and Gerald Salzer; and his brothers-in-law, Strep Kuehl and Jerry Hansen.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Salzer; his children, Harold Salzer Jr. (Pam), Frank Salzer, Jenny Tratz (Pat) and David Salzer; his grandchildren, Eric (Christopher), Lindsay (Charles), Mitchell (Robyn) and Rachel (Jake); his great grandchildren, Levi, Cora, Ava, Waylon and Amelia; his siblings, Carl Salzer Jr. (Barb), John Salzer Sr. (Nancy) and Elaine Hansen; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Kuehl and Sadano Salzer.
