He is survived by: his wife Waltraud Rost (Church); his children, Sabine Knapp (James), James Rost and Eric Rost (Nicole); his grandchildren, Angie Ernst, Chad Ernst, Paulin Knapp, Erika Knapp, Nicolas Rost, Alexander Rost and Ava Rost; his siblings, Arlene Bowen (Brad), Barb White and Jerry Rost; and his sister-in-law Rita Bannach.
