He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Garno and Hazel Garno; his wife Joyce Messerschmidt; and his siblings, Louis and Jeanne.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Armond Beck and Carol Fredrick; his nieces and nephews, Mike Garno, Jeff Briese, Dan Fredrick, Steve, Tom, Jim, Pat, Kevin, Bob, Todd Messerscmidt, Nancy Beck, Susan Lee, Amy Bruss, Shannon Fredrick and Jody Smith; and his close friend Terry Wohler.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in James' name.
