With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John A. Ruetten (Oshkosh, Wisconsin), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 14, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund T. Mashak and Alta Mashak; his brothers, David Ruetten and Gene Ruetten; his brothers-in-law, Frankie Hundt, Peter Spaeth and Bruce Lemery; and his godson Jonathan Spaeth.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Gilbeck; his children, Susan, Jeffrey Ruetten (Wendy Harman), Trasy Ruetten, Christopher Ruetten (Liza Thiel) of Fort Myers, FL and Marc Ruetten (Lisa Nigl); his grandchildren, Ben Ruetten (Stephanie Metcalf), Nate Ruetten (Nancy Hart), Josh Ruetten, Kelsey Miller (Mason), Justin Ruetten (Michaela Welsh), John, Alex, Otto, Hudson Ruetten, Scarlett and Duke Miller; his siblings, Donna Hundt, Ed Ruetten (Kathleen), Marjorie Spaeth, Liz Lemery and Ray Ruetten (Mary); his sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Ruetten (Al Kamp) and Cathy Zellmer; and his godchildren, Sarah Necklen and Mitchell Hundt. He is also survived by in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends and wonderful neighbors.
