He was predeceased by: his father Edward Hoppe; and his brothers, Howard, Gaylord (Rita), Richard and Kenneth Hoppe.

He is survived by: his wife Delores (Kluender); his children, Julie Leichtfuss (Jeff), Sheila Franzen and Greg Hoppe (Kara); his grandchildren, Jason Leichtfuss, Jennifer Krueger, Jamie Raasch (Cullen), Jessica Lee (Chris), Ashley Franzen (Kevin Garza), Corey Franzen and Lizzie Hoppe; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Kaden, Jaxson, Ava, Ella, Hudson, Mason, Charlotte and Brynlee; his sister Carole Wissink (Don); and his sisters-in-law, Lucille and Frankie Hoppe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
