She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Groskruetz and Albert Groskruetz; her husband John W. Gradl; and her siblings, Dorothy, Alfred and Harvey.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debra Ryan (Pat) of Oshkosh and Judith Koch-Broda of Oshkosh; her grandsons, Kelley R. Koch (Cassie) and Daniel J. Koch; her great grandchildren, Natalie M. Koch and Jacob R. Koch of Oshkosh; and her sister Joyce Wentland (Robert) of Redgranite. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
