He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Norris (Posey) and Melvin Edward Norris Sr.; and his sister Virginia Elizabeth "Cheita" Fortson. He is survived by: his wife Edwina "Winnie" Norris; his son Cameron Harvey of Nashville, Tennessee; and his siblings, Ella Cauthern of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kelvin Norris of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
