He was predeceased by: his parents, John McMillen and Bertha McMillen; his brother Thomas; and his son Benjamin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Matthew McMillen (Jill) and Kristie Mineard (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Samuel, Kylie, Kendall and Keagan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church.
