He was predeceased by: his parents, Murle Rennert and Lorraine Rennert; his siblings, Roger, James and Gloria (Ben Stache); his sister-in-law Helen; his nephew Michael Villers; and his pets, Titania, Tiger and Blackie.

He is survived by: his brother Bruce; his nephews, Timothy, Chris Rennert, Jeff, Patrick, Mark Villers, Eric James Rennert, Randy Rennert (Laura) and Eric L Rennert (Kelly); his goddaughter Victoria Krystek (Craig); his niece Molly Rennert; his sister-in-law Kate Alderson Rennert; and his pet Hobbs.

Russell's wishes were to not send flowers or plants but to please gift or donate to the Oshkosh Humane Society.
